Third Energy Conference in Southeastern Europe 2009
Security, Liberalisation, Climate
The conference is organized under the patronage of the Bulgarian Minister of Economy and Energy Petar Dimitrov.
At the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 there will be significant changes in the EU energy policy. They relate to the so-called third liberalization package which will get final approval by the institutions of the EU soon.
The three key issues of the package are: extending and accelerating the liberalisation of energy markets, enhancing the security of energy supply and preventing the negative effects of climate change.
This conference seeks to provide a unique opportunity for state institutions, private and public sector companies to discuss the challenges that EU energy policy faces, as well as the implementation of the latest energy directives into Bulgarian legislation.
Invitations to participate in the conference have been sent to the EU Commissioner for Energy Andris Piebalgs and the Energy Ministers fromSoutheastern Europe .
